Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has named the only team he believes can challenge the Reds for the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool are on course to win the English top-flight title this season after opening an 11-point gap at the top of the table over the weekend.
Their closest rivals, Arsenal, are in second place, while Nottingham Forest and Manchester City sit in third and fourth, respectively.
Speaking on The Overlap with Sky Bet, Carragher said:
“We were talking after the game yesterday, and I still think that if Liverpool go on to win the [Premier] League, the question will always be: who is going to challenge the champions next season?
“I think I would still back Manchester City more than Arsenal right now.”
Manchester City, who won the Premier League title last season, are currently 20 points behind Arne Slot’s side in the table.
Pep Guardiola’s men were eliminated from the Champions League last week at the hands of Real Madrid.
