Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has left Cole Palmer out of his squad for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Arsenal.
The 22-year-old is said to be nursing a tight hamstring.
A win at the Emirates against their London rivals would see the Blues cement fourth place in the Premier League table and boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
But Maresca has decided not to risk his talisman for the game.
Palmer played in the second half of the Blues’ 1-0 win at home to FC Copenhagen in the Conference League round-of-16 on Thursday.
But he has not scored for 10 games, recently missing his first-ever penalty, in a 1-0 home win over Leicester City.
Maresca has, though, restored goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to the starting XI, with Filip Jorgensen having started against Copenhagen.
