The Turkish club provided several recommendations to help the traveling Scottish supporters avoid any unintended offense while in Istanbul.
One of the key advisories was a request for visitors not to eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum in public during daylight hours—as Muslims observing Ramadan fast from sunrise to sunset.
While non-Muslims are not required to fast, consuming food or beverages in public could be perceived as disrespectful to those who are abstaining.
