Fiorentina have provided the latest update on Moise Kean after the forward suffered a head injury during the match against Verona on Sunday.
There were upsetting scenes during Fiorentina’s Serie A 1-0 defeat to Verona as Kean collapsed on the pitch following a nasty head collision.
Antoine Bernede’s stoppage time goal gave Verona all three points against the visitors .
However, the Serie A clash was largely overshadowed by Kean’s injury midway through the second half.
The 24-year-old was treated by Fiorentina’s medical staff for a large wound above his left eye after taking a knee to the side of the head during a three-way tussle involving Pawel Dawidowicz and Diego Coppola.
Kean was later stretchered from the field, before being carried into a pitch-side ambulance.
“ACF Fiorentina announces that the player Moise Kean suffered a head injury during the match against Verona,” a statement on Fiorentina’s website read after the game.
“The player is in hospital for checks.”
Kean has enjoyed an excellent debut season with Fiorentina following his move from Juventus.
The Italian has scored 15 goals and provided two assists for the club in the Serie A so far this season.
Kean could miss Fiorentina’s next match against Leece on Friday.
