Ghana legend Samuel Osei Kuffour has hit back at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher following his comment about the African Cup of Nations tournament.
Carragher continues to receive backlash from African legends after the comment he made about the AFCON.
A few weeks ago, the former Liverpool defender stated that the AFCON tournament is not a major competition while he was analysing Mohamed Salah’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.
This led to several former African footballers having a go at the Liverpool legend and calling him out for his take.

Former African best player Emmanuel Adebayor has hit back at Jamie Carragher and backed Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha’s comment on the Liverpool legend.

Carragher backtracks on AFCON remarks after backlash, admitting he was clumsy and wrong in downplaying the tournament’s importance in football.

Speaking to SportyTV, he said, while putting Carragher on blast, “Has he ever won man of the match in his career before?”
The one-time AFCON winner questioned the Liverpool legend’s comment and asked if he has even won just a man of the match award in his career.

The likes of Jay Jay Okocha, John Mikel Obi, Emmanuel Adebayo and other African legends have also come out to slam Carragher.
Carragher’s comment discrediting the AFCON tournament has not gone well with African players and legends and it is yet to be seen if the Liverpool legend will stop taking a hit anytime soon for what he said.
