This Hermes Oil is an energy and logistics company, with expertise focusing on haulage of petroleum products, bulk supply and distribution, retail, safety practices and PPE supply, petroleum station and LPG plant infrastructure design, construction, and operations. Our clients include a number of high-profile industrial companies in the West African region.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly QA/QC program updates.
  • Conduct ISO 9001 and project performance-based audits.
  • Plan, install, sustain, and improve a total quality system in accordance with industry quality standards, ISO 9001, and clients’ requirements.
  • Develop and lead quality related technical training to operations to ensure that Hermes Oil follows established quality policies and procedures; meets/exceeds clients’ quality expectations and standards, ISO, and other certification requirements.
  • Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
  • The QA/QC officer is to be stationed at the dispensing location and work with the store attendant to monitor and track the dispensing of the inventory.
  • The QA/QC officer is to be present when new stock arrives and take responsibility in validating the quantity of the product that has been brought down from the depot and be responsible for monitoring and validating that the total amount has been dispensed into storage.
  • The QA/QC officer will also need to follow the dispensing trucks on trips to be present for all dispensing trips to external third parties and will need to take physical evidence of each dispensing in the form of photographs.
  • Facilitate and lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Petroleum Depot quality plan, facilitate and lead mapping of critical business processes transferring ownership to the client for sustained continual improvement.
  • Approve incoming materials/products by confirming specifications, that the amounts dispensed are accurate, conducting a visual (in form of pictures) measurement test, rejecting, and returning unacceptable materials/products.
  • Monitor procedures at discharging points of petroleum products.
  • Maintain quality procedures at product distribution.
  • Will carry out tests of petroleum products.
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality.
  • Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians, drivers, and other staff.
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
  • Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied.
  • Report all malfunctions to your line manager to ensure immediate action.
  • Facilitate Proactive solutions by collecting and analysing quality data.
  • Review current standards and policies.
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all legal standards are met.
  • Provide training of personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the QA/QC process, including the interface and response to audits such as those conducted by the client or third parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in QA / QC onshore activities in the downstream oil and gas industry.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience in External & Internal Quality Audit Program.
  • Good analytical skills and excellent quality tools and methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in ISO Quality Management System.
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to identify and intervene in problem areas, well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interface seamlessly with downstream operators/contractors.

Salary
N150,000 – N200,000 Monthly.

2.) Account Officer

Locations: Lagos and Oyo

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities 

  • Manage all accounting transactions.
  • Prepare budget forecasts.
  • Liaise with the human resource department to maintain an effective payroll administration system.
  • Publish financial statements and bookkeeping ledgers in time.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure timely bank payments.
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
  • Audit financial transactions and documents.
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.
  • Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Completing analysis of the employee expenditures.
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts.
  • Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data.
  • Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status.
  • Ensure that taxes, pension and other statutory contributions/payments are properly filed and remitted on or before government-mandated deadlines.
  • Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company.
  • Review financial records of sales to ensure balanced accounts are maintained.

Job Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any other related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, etc) is an added advantage
  • 4 – 7 years proven experience as an accountant, accounts officer or relevant role.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
  • Experience with general ledger functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
  • Project management skills and a team player.

Salary
N150,000 Monthly.
