I am very lucky — Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta ready to fight for all trophies

‘It’s sad when you don’t win a trophy’ – Arsenal defender Saliba expresses concern over another trophyless season

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an honest response to the question of what trophy he prefers to win this season.

Arsenal are on the verge of securing a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals, thanks to their commanding 7-1 lead over PSV Eindhoven from the first leg.

However, their Premier League ambitions have taken a hit, with the team now trailing leaders Liverpool by 15 points after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The Gunners are set to fall short in their Premier League title pursuit for another season, while they are also out of the domestic cups, a situation that the Gunners defender William Saliba has described as ‘sad’.

As the Gunners prepare to host PSV at the Emirates on Wednesday, manager Mikel Arteta has refused to take the bait when asked which trophy he’d prefer to win.

When questioned on whether he’d rather lift the Champions League or Premier League trophy in May, Arteta said;

“I’m lucky because I don’t have to choose – we go for all four of them”

Arsenal now know that if they beat PSV in the last-16, they will face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals. The Gunners would host the first-leg.

Should the Gunners make it to the semi-finals, they will face either PSG/Liverpool or Club Brugge/Aston Villa. Arsenal would host the first-leg.

The final is on 31 May at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
