Sixtus Ogbuehi has joined Osasuna, becoming the third Nigerian to play for the LaLiga club.

Nigerian striker Sixtus Ogbuehi has expressed happiness after he officially joined CA Osasuna, becoming the third Nigerian to play for the La Liga club. 

Pulse Sports Nigeria reported that the 21-year-old striker has signed on loan from Club Deportivo Eldense, with an option for Osasuna to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Ogbuehi will initially compete with Osasuna Promesas, the club’s reserve team, as they seek to improve their current standing in the Primera Federación.

Ogbuehi, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall, is recognised for his physical ability but Last season, he netted an impressive 18 goals while playing in Spain’s Tercera Federación, contributing significantly to his teams’ promotion efforts.

However, his time at Eldense was challenging, as he made only six appearances in the league and one in the Copa del Rey this season. Now in Pamplona, Ogbuehi is expected to enhance Osasuna Promesas’ attacking options. 

Speaking about his transfer, he expressed excitement about joining the club but admitted he lacks extensive knowledge about it.

“I feel good and I feel great; it’s good to be here,” the youngster stated in a video made available to Pulse Sports Nigeria. 

“The training was good, the session. I don’t know much but I know it is a great team and has been very long in La Liga, so I look forward to knowing more about the team. I feel great to join the team because I know it’s my future,” Ogbuehi added.
