Ajax coach Francesco Farioli has expressed his regret over selling Chuba Akpom to Lille in January, following the team’s elimination from the Europa League.
Akpom’s departure, along with other key players, has left a big void in the team.

What Francesco said
Francesco confirmed that it is very hard to play at highest level after losing the Super Eagles star.
“It is difficult to play at a high level in three competitions if you lose Devyne Rensch, Chuba Akpom and about six other players. I think we made a mistake by selling Akpom in January,” Farioli said, as quoted by Ajax1.
As Ajax shifts its focus to the Eredivisie, Farioli will be looking to rally his team and get back to winning ways.
The Godenzonen are set to face AZ Alkmaar this weekend, with their sights set on the league title.
