Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has denied reports claiming he was seen posing with a convicted murderer.

Rashford has been faced with lots of difficulties in the last few seasons, with his performance on the pitch being questioned by fans.

The forward has been frozen out of Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup after he declared last month that he was prepared to leave the team.

Following the controversies about his future, he has also been accused of linking up with a convicted murderer.

“I want to make it clear I have never seen this photo, I do not know this person and I am not friends with him.

“Like most footballers, if someone asks for a photo with me, I will never refuse but I am obviously not able to do a background check on every individual that asks me for a photo.

“Can I please urge tabloids rather than focusing on me, to use their platforms to help raise awareness on the many charities and individuals that work daily throughout the UK to tackle knife crime to prevent more families from suffering tragic loss. My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Jimmy Mizen.”

Rashford’s reference to Mizen’s name suggests that the United player is discussing supposed photos with rapper Jake Fahri, who goes by the stage moniker TEN.

Fahri killed the 16-year-old kid Mizen in May 2008, and in 2009, he was given a minimum 14-year prison sentence.
