Lewis Hamilton has expressed worry just weeks after leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari.
After trading his long-time ride Mercedes for a seat at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton is already raising eyebrows over a serious issue: his love of Italian food.
The seven-time Formula One world champion admitted that his fondness for pizza could pose a problem when it comes to fitting in the Ferrari cockpit.
Hamilton, who’s been indulging in three pizzas a week, has opened up about his struggle to manage his diet amid his new Italian connection.

“I have to watch my diet. But that will be difficult,” he confessed in a statement reported by The Sun.
“I have to be careful and I can’t eat pizza all year round. Otherwise I won’t fit in the car anymore.”

“Oh God. I’ve eaten so many pizzas in the last few weeks. But funnily enough, I’ve lost weight. Last week alone I had three pizzas. I love Italian food. Penne a la Arrabbiata is still my absolute favourite dish.”
Hamilton’s pizza obsession is certainly at odds with the disciplined physique required to race at the top level, but it seems he’s enjoying the balance.

His new teammate, Charles Leclerc, has already extended his contract beyond 2024, and both drivers are expected to push Ferrari to end its title drought that dates back to Kimi Raikkonen’s 2007 triumph.
