‘I won’t waste time’ – Ibrahimovic shuts down Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League vs Ligue 1 comparison

I won't waste my time - Ibrahimovic hits Cristiano Ronaldo over Ligue 1 comments

Former AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has said he would not waste his time on the debate about whether the Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue 1.

The Swede refused to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s suggestion that Saudi Arabia has created a better atmosphere to play football than what is obtainable in France.

Zlatan says he can only say for sure that the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga are far better than every other league around the world.

Speaking to the media via GOAL, Ibrahimovic refused to compare Ligue 1 and the Saudi Pro League like Ronaldo.

“There is nothing to answer — you can’t debate something when there is no evidence for one side. PSG is one of the great clubs of Europe in a very good league,” he said.

“Maybe only Spain and England can for sure say they are a superior league. I can’t even reply to a suggestion that the Saudi League is superior — I won’t even waste my time.”

Ibrahimovic played in leagues across Europe during his active days. He played in Ligue 1 with PSG after moving from AC Milan.

Ronaldo was linked with a move to PSG on multiple occasions but never joined the French side.

DAILY POST reported that Ronaldo, who spoke at the Globe Soccer Awards earlier this month, claimed that the Pro League was better than Ligue 1.

Former Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar Jr., had agreed with Ronaldo’s claims that the Saudi Pro League is better than French Ligue 1.

Neymar, who now plays for Al-Hilal, was with the French Ligue 1 champions between 2017 and 2023.
