Ian Wright criticized Arsenal fans for lacking energy during their 1-0 defeat to West Ham, suggesting the atmosphere mirrored the team’s struggles on the pitch.

Wright believes Arsenal’s failure to strengthen their attack during the January transfer window has left Arteta without the firepower to compete at the highest level.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Wright said, “Arteta needed help in January. I don’t think he could’ve done more with the resources he has. This game showed that without more attacking options, breaking down a solid defense is beyond their reach.”
He also criticized the Emirates crowd, claiming their low energy reflected the team’s lack of urgency. “The fans didn’t seem to believe. Without that pressure from the stands, West Ham stayed solid and never cracked,” Wright added.
When asked if Arsenal could still win the title, Wright remained cautious. “Liverpool are eight points clear and will want to finish the job. But you have to believe you can still do it—otherwise, why play?”
Wright also highlighted Arsenal’s limited attacking options, questioning where goals would come from if they fell behind. “If West Ham had scored twice, where would we find three goals? That’s the worry,” he concluded.
