Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has shut down suggestions he plans to or could return to his boyhood club, Sporting CP when his stint at Al Nassr ends.

What Ronaldo said
The 40-year-old came up through the ranks at Sporting before leaving for Manchester United in 2004 as a teenager.
Since he hit the later stages of his career, he has been linked with an emotional return. However, Ronaldo has now permanently put an end to that notion, stating that he has no plans of playing for the Leoes ever again.
“I love watching Sporting games; it’s my team… but I’m not planning to return playing there,” he told Canal 11, per Fabrizio Romano.
“I think it makes no sense. Of course, my country is Portugal, but everything has a time and a limit.”
Ex-teammate hopes for sensational return
As Pulse Sports reported, Ronaldo’s former teammate Jose Fonte expressed his desire to see the former Manchester United ace return to Sporting.
“Make no mistake, for Portugal for Sporting and for all football fans in Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo’s return would be the ultimate dream,” Fonte said.
“He would elevate the league, bring in more money, bring in more investment; unfortunately, it’s not up to us.
“We would love to have him here. It’s up to him. But who knows? Only he can answer that question. But for us here in Portugal, it would be an absolute dream to have someone like him return to Sporting and to Portugal. What a great story it would b
