Roles and Responsibilities

2.) Micro Tunnelling Machine Operator
Location: Nigeria
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate and control micro tunneling machines for the installation of pipelines under highways, railroads, rivers, and other obstacles.
- Ensure smooth operation of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) and associated equipment, including alignment, thrust, and cutting components.

5.) Geotechnical Engineer

10.) Drilling Mud Engineer
Location: Nigeria
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and optimize drilling fluid formulations to meet specific project needs, including requirements for pipeline construction.
- Design customized mud programs for challenging conditions, such as soft soils, high-pressure zones, and tough rocky formations.
- Monitor the quality, composition, and performance of drilling mud during construction, ensuring fluid properties remain within acceptable ranges.
- Troubleshoot issues related to drilling fluid, such as cuttings removal, borehole stability, and lubrication efficiency.
- Manage the safe and effective use of chemicals and additives, maintaining accurate inventories and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and calibration of all drilling fluid-related equipment, such as mud pumps, agitators, shale shakers, and centrifuges.
- Supervise the maintenance of mud mixing systems to ensure consistency in mud properties throughout the drilling process.
- Ensure that drilling fluids and waste disposal processes are in line with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Ensure safe disposal of spent mud and cuttings, working closely with environmental teams for compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with rig crew, drilling engineers, and site management to implement effective mud programs aligned with drilling objectives.
- Provide real-time recommendations to improve drilling efficiency based on mud performance, wellbore conditions, and tool operations.
- Gather data on the performance of drilling fluids during operations and prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mud properties.
- Ensure that drilling mud operations follow strict safety guidelines and that crew members are trained on safe handling of drilling fluids.
- Adhere to risk management protocols for mud-related operations, including ensuring the safe use of chemicals and minimizing spill risks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of [8+ years] of experience as a Drilling Mud Engineer in the oil and gas or pipeline construction industry, with experience with downhole tools and equipment, including BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly), and understanding their interaction with mud systems.
- Must be certified in the following areas of competence: Registered Engineer (COREN) or its equivalent, SPE Certified Petroleum Professional, IADC WellSharp Certification, and Certified MUDSheet User
Technical Skills:
- In-depth understanding of drilling mud properties, design, testing, and analysis.
- Proficient knowledge of mud engineering software and tools, such as mud monitoring systems and fluid testing equipment.
