It is a rematch from two years ago, as the 2025 Super Bowl features the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

For the first time in nineteen years, the NFL has a repeat champion.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who have won three Super Bowls in the last five seasons, solidified the modern-day dynasty in the NFL on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas by defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25–22 in overtime.

Like the last two for Kansas City and its star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, this one ended with an exciting comeback in the second half and, on this occasion, some late heroics in overtime.

After a 13-play, 75-yard drive, though, that ended with a 3-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kirk Mahomes to tight end Mecole Hardman, the Chiefs mounted a comeback.

For Kansas City, who has established a reputation behind quarterback Patrick Mahomes as being especially dangerous while keeping the ball last, it was just another must-have drive.

With fewer than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs marched 75 yards in 11 plays and Harrison Butker converted a 29-yard field goal, cutting their deficit to 19-16.

With 16 seconds remaining, Patrick Mahomes connected Travis Kelce on a crosser for a 22-yard gain, setting up the Chiefs for an easy kick.

The Chiefs have won four Super Bowls overall, and this is their third under head coach Andy Reid, who now shares third place all-time with Bill Walsh and Joe Gibbs.

The standout performers were the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, each scoring three touchdowns.

These two football powerhouses will square off on the final stage just two years after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in an exciting Super Bowl.

During the playoffs on Sunday, the Chiefs and Eagles, who were both hosting, demolished their opponents and clinched their Super Bowl spots.

The Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills by a slim margin on Sunday night, 32-29.

The victory is the fourth time in five seasons that the Chiefs have beaten the Bills in their postseason runs.

The Eagles broke the previous record for the most points scored in an NFC championship game earlier Sunday, defeating the Washington Commanders 55-23.

When both teams travel to New Orleans for the crucial game on February 9, they have a lot to prove.

The Chiefs would win the Super Bowl for the third time in a row if they defeated the Eagles.

Except for professional football, almost every other major sport in the US has had a three-peat.

The squad is still led by the unmatched quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is still at the peak of his game, even though they haven’t played as well as they have in previous seasons.
