The Katsina State Hisbah Board has directed all private schools in the state to suspend academic activities throughout the month of Ramadan.

The government-backed agency, which enforces Sharia law in line with Islamic principles, warned that non-compliance with the directive would not be tolerated.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Commander-General of the board, Malam Aminu Usman, said the decision aligns with the state government’s directive.

He urged school proprietors to adhere strictly to the order, emphasizing that the closure would enable pupils to fully observe the fasting period.

“The directive also includes extra lessons,” the statement added.
