According to reports, the speculation reached new heights after journalist Naiara Vecchio insisted that there was no tension between Messi and Roccuzzo, adding fuel to the pregnancy talk.
“When it comes to Lionel and Antonela Roccuzzo, I talked to their close circle and they told me they were doing great, in fact, they’re looking to have a baby girl,” Vecchio revealed in Spanish as per Hola Magazine.

That statement was all it took for the internet to go wild, with fans dissecting Roccuzzo’s latest selfies and pointing out that she had been posting less frequently.
However, Argentine journalist Ángel de Brito put the rumours to bed after speaking directly with Roccuzzo.

“I spoke to Antonela and she told me that the rumour of her pregnancy is fake,” he confirmed on X, alongside a family photo of the Messis.
“She said that the media has been trying to get her pregnant for the past three years!”

Although the couple has denied the latest round of rumours, Messi himself admitted in 2023 that they had considered adding to their family.
Speaking to Migue Granados on the streaming programme OLGA, the football icon said, “We’d like to have a baby again. We’re not on the lookout, but let’s see if a baby girl arrives.”
For now, though, Roccuzzo is making it clear she is NOT pregnant.
