Job Position: Logistics and Distribution Manager

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• This role involves overseeing the management of owned and hired vehicles to ensure safe, efficient distribution services.
• Focusing on maximizing service, performance, value, and profitability, aligning with business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Revenue & Cost Management: Optimize pricing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve customer service through strategies like real-time tracking.
• Fleet & Transport Management: Oversee vehicle performance, scheduling, and preventive maintenance to maximize fleet efficiency.
• Specialized Delivery & Cold Chain: Ensure compliance with cold chain regulations and manage the safe delivery of sensitive goods.
• Project Management: Lead distribution-related projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
• Vendor & Client Relationships: Build strong partnerships with vendors and clients to ensure service quality and compliance.
• Safety & Risk Management: Implement policies to safeguard drivers, vehicles, and cargo, ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Candidiates should possess an HND or BSc in Administrative or Science-related fields with 5-8 years in Distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.

Key Experience:

• Route mapping, fuel budgeting, rate proposals
• Vehicle maintenance and service scheduling
• Safety program development and hazardous materials handling.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Best practices in distribution models and transportation modes
• Financial analysis for trucking decisions
• Cold chain regulations and safety protocols
• Basic safety standards for efficient distribution.

Skills:

• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Project management experience
• Problem-solving and adaptability
• Proficiency in Excel for trucking analytics.
