French President Emmanuel Macron has disclosed that he left the United States with very little hope on progress regarding tariffs.
Macron made this revelation on Friday during a press conference held in Portugal.
The French leader insisted that tariffs would not benefit anyone, stating that they are inflationary.
According to him, Europeans would respond to the US tariffs on aluminum and steel.
Macron further expressed concerns about the Trump administration’s commercial approach, pointing out that there are some problems and misunderstandings.
Recall that US President Donald Trump had recently announced that he would introduce a 25% tariff on European Union cars.
