Super Eagles of Nigeria star forward Moses Simon is back on the scoresheet in France.

Simon was on target for Nantes as they were held to a 1-1 draw away against St Etienne in a French Ligue 1 game on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Nantes was named in the Nantes starting lineup for the crucial clash by coach Antoine Kombouaré.

The Nigerian forward wasted no time in making his mark on the game breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute.

It was the first goal Simon scored for Nantes in 2025 and this season he has 10 goal contributions in just 16 league games.

That was the only goal of the first half, as Nantes went to the break with a narrow lead.

Simon who recently celebrated his wedding anniversary was a key threat for Nantes up front.

In the 71st minute, Simon who has contributed 47% of Nantes’ goals was taken out for Sorba Thomas.

St Etienne began to dominate and were rewarded with an equalizer in the 86th minute when Augustine Boakye converted a cross by Tardieu.

Nantes held on to take a point away against St Etienne as the game ended in a draw.
