Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has appointed former president of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Aminu Muazu Maifata, as commissioner in the state.
Maifata took his oath of office on Friday after his successful screening at the State Assembly.
He was appointed Commissioner for Local Government, Emirates Affairs and Rural Development.
Governor Sule expressed confidence in Maifata’s ability to excel in his new role.
The decision of the governor to appoint Maifata is said to be seen as a move to boost the local government system in the state and ensure that it is more effective in delivering services to the people.
As commissioner, Maifata will be responsible for overseeing the affairs of local governments in the state, ensuring that they are run efficiently and effectively.
