Liverpool’s dominant 2-0 victory over Manchester City has convinced former Manchester United captain Gary Neville that the Reds are on course to win their 20th league title, equaling United’s historic tally.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville criticised Arsenal for failing to capitalise on Liverpool’s dropped points in recent weeks, labelling their title pursuit as “fumbling around.”
Neville slams Arsenal’s inconsistency
With Arsenal suffering a shock 1-0 home defeat to West Ham, Neville argued that the Gunners’ failure to take advantage of Liverpool’s four draws in eight matches had all but handed the Reds the title.

He dismissed any notion of complacency from Jurgen Klopp’s men, saying, “I can’t see complacency [being an issue]. They’ve got so much experience and look in control. They’ve adapted pretty well all season.”
While pointing to Liverpool’s ability to rise to the occasion in crucial matches, he was particularly scathing towards Arsenal’s lack of ruthlessness on the other hand.

“The only thing you would say is that the team that is behind you is there waiting for you… but the team that are behind them are not their waiting for them. They are fumbling around,” Neville added.

With 11 games remaining, Liverpool are closing in on what could be a historic campaign. If they secure the title, it will mark their 20th English league championship, bringing them level with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have held the record since their 2012-13 triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson, but Neville admitted the thought of Liverpool matching their tally was difficult for United fans to accept.
Beyond the league, Liverpool remain in contention for multiple trophies. They have already secured a spot in the EFL Cup final against Newcastle and will face PSG in the Champions League round of 16.

However, their primary focus remains on securing the Premier League title, with crucial fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham still to come.
