Newcastle United have set their sights on Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, with the club already making contact with the Nigerian forward’s representatives, according to The Chronicle.

Boniface was close to joining Al Nassr during the winter transfer window after the Saudi club agreed on a fee with Leverkusen. However, they ultimately opted to sign Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran instead.

Despite recently signing a one-year contract extension until 2029, the 24-year-old is expected to leave at the end of the season, provided the right offer comes in.

Leverkusen, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions, are open to selling him for the right price.

The powerful forward joined Leverkusen from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 and has since been a standout performer.

He has racked up 31 goals and 11 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, making him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.

With Newcastle looking to strengthen their attacking options, Boniface could be a major summer acquisition for the Magpies if they can strike a deal with Leverkusen.
