NPFL: Remo Stars turn Akwa United like Afang soup in Uyo

Remo Stars defeated Akwa United in Uyo to record their third away win of the season.

Remo Stars have widened their lead at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to five points after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Akwa United.

Akwa United struck first through Uche Sabastine just six minutes into the match. However, Remo Stars showed resilience, with Samuel Anakwe levelling the score in the 74th minute.

Olamilekan Adedayo then sealed the win for the league leaders with a goal five minutes from time.

Akwa United have lost 11 games this season, including five home matches (two defeats and three draws). Remo Stars’ defeat leaves the former champions in 19th on the table with 19 points from 20 games.

Remo Stars are back at the top in the NPFL.

Remo Stars now sit atop the NPFL table with 39 points from 20 games and hope to win their first NPFL title.
