The Jigawa State Police Command has emphasized the importance of financial discipline in upholding professional integrity to promote accountability and responsible money management.
This was stated at the Divisional Crime Officers, DCOs, training program held at the command’s headquarters in Dutse.
In a paper presented by the Command’s Finance Officer, CSP Jazuli Murtala, titled “Police Officers and Indebtedness,” he stressed the importance of financial stability in maintaining professional integrity.
The session covered the legal framework, as well as the causes and consequences of debt among police officers.
The CFO emphasised the importance of financial discipline among officers in accordance with Section 93(a) of the Police Act and Regulations 2020 (as amended).
CSP Jazuli Murtala stressed the importance of financial stability in maintaining professional integrity and encouraged participants to pass on their knowledge to their subordinates.
He further highlighted the importance of the “5Ps – Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance” as a proactive measure in addressing financial mismanagement among personnel.
