Super Eagles ace Kelechi Iheanacho reportedly rejected a move to Serie A to play in the English second division.
Kelechi Iheanacho made a return to English football this winter transfer window, signing for Championship side Middlesbrough.
The move came only six months after he signed for Sevilla in the summer; however, he failed to settle and hence could not get game time. He joined Middlesbrough on a six-month loan but according to reports from Spain, he could have secured an even bigger move.

Iheanacho turned down Serie A move
The 27-year-old is an accomplished footballer with an impressive CV; hence, when Leicester City let his contract run out, he had a spate of suitors vying for his signature before eventually picking Sevilla.
When an exit in January became his solution to his struggles at Sevilla, he was not lacking of suitors as well, reportedly securing bids from clubs in Greece and Saudi Arabia.
Unbeknownst to many, however, was that Fiorentina were also interested. According to Diario de Sevilla, the Nigerian rejected the approach of the Italians in favour of the familiarity of English football.
While most of his time in England was spent in the Premier League across stints at Manchester City and Leicester City, Iheanacho played in the Championship last season with the Foxes.
