Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday labelled Russia’s leadership as ‘Pathological liars’ after a drone attack overnight that followed talks in Saudi Arabia between Russian and United States officials.

Recall that Russian forces attacked the Black Sea port city of Odesa in Ukraine, leaving most of its residents without power, water or heating. 

Writing on the Telegram messaging app on Wednesday morning, Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, described the strike on Odesa as massive.

“Hospitals, clinics and social infrastructure sites were left without heating,” Trukhanov said.

Reacting to the development, Zelenskyy said on social media that Russia’s leaders cannot be trusted.

“We must never forget that Russia is ruled by pathological liars—they cannot be trusted and must be pressured. For the sake of peace,” Zelenskyy said.

Meanwhile, speaking on Tuesday after Russian and US officials met in Saudi Arabia for their first high-level talks in over three years without Ukraine taking part, U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to blame Zelenskyy for having “started” the war.
