Arne Slot has praised Mohamed Salah’s longevity and goalscoring prowess, likening the Liverpool forward to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Slot stated that the Reds star’s experience, intelligence and fitness have been key to his success this season.

The Liverpool boss believes that Salah’s ability to read the game and anticipate where the ball will fall is what sets him apart from other players. He also praised the attacker’s fitness levels, which allow him to play every three days at 32.

“In certain things, you can see he’s 32. What I mean is that he’s so experienced and so smart and knows so well where the ball will fall,’ said Slot.

“He has lived through so many situations that he just feels where the ball can fall and he’s there, like his goal on Wednesday at Everton.

“In other parts, like how fit he is, he is able to play every three days at his age. He’s not the only one – I think Cristiano Ronaldo is still doing it at the age of 40 – but Mo is also definitely an example for our younger players.”
