Since December we haven't seen anything from - Mikel sends warning to Chelsea star

Mikel has issued a stern warning to winger Jadon Sancho.

Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel has issued a stern warning to winger Jadon Sancho, urging him to step up his game.

Sancho, who joined Chelsea on an initial loan deal from Manchester United last summer, made a promising start to his Blues career.

However, his performances have tailed off in recent weeks, with the 24-year-old failing to make a goal contribution since the draw against Crystal Palace on January 4th.

What Mikel said

Mikel, who isn’t afraid to speak his mind, has cautioned Sancho against complacency, emphasising that he cannot afford to relax at Chelsea.

Mikel revealed that Sancho needs to step up his performances to justify his place in the team.

“He came through the door and showed why I wanted him, the first few games he showed why he should be here, he was running at players, creating chances but since December we haven’t seen anything from Jadon. He cannot relax here,” Mikel said on his Obi One Podcast.

Chelsea struggles to find consistency in attack, with the team managing just two wins in their last eight league games. Despite this, the Blues remain the fourth-highest scorers in the division, with Cole Palmer being the only attacker contributing consistently.

With Mykhailo Mudryk currently out of the picture, Sancho is under pressure to deliver, and Mikel’s warning serves as a reminder that he needs to raise his game to meet the expectations at Chelsea.
