Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed Boniface’s availability during a pre-match press conference, stating, “Yes, he is in the squad.”

Before his injury, Boniface had been a crucial player for Leverkusen, contributing six league goals in 10 games, and eight in all competitions across 15 matches.
