Temitope Adeshina wrote her name in the US college history books by winning the women’s high jump NCAA indoor title.
At the ongoing NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia, Temitope Adeshina scaled a massive Season’s Best (SB) mark of 1.94m to win the high jump title.
The Texas Tech sophomore student winning mark tied with Elena Kulichenko (Georgia), who also jumped 1.94m as they both earned first place, having missed at 1.97m and had the same amount of missed attempts during the competition. NCAA Leader Rachel Glenn was third with 1.91m.

With her brilliant feat, Adeshina became the first Nigerian athlete to win an NCAA high jump title, recording her name in the history books.

An outstanding jump by Temitope Adeshina announced her to the NCAA and athletics world, making her one to watchout for this season.
In 2024, the 26-year-old jumped a personal best and national record of 1.96m in Texas, and at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, she improved the mark to 1.97m to meet the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying standard.

Adeshina is now an NCAA champion in just her second season in the US, having won a bronze medal at the outdoor championships last year.
