In an interview with NewsTelegrapgh, Musa disclosed the importance of regaining the confidence of Nigerian fans ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

Musa, who has over 100 appearances for the Super Eagles, acknowledged that the team’s recent performances have not been up to par.
He said, “Most of our fans are just not happy with the Super Eagles, and we just have to regain the confidence of our own fans.”

The 21-year-old has struggled to break into Enzo Maresca’s side.
The winger, who has played for several clubs including CSKA Moscow and Leicester City, believes that the team’s success in the World Cup qualifiers is crucial to winning back the fans.

Leicester City have now lost 8 of their last 10 games without Wilfred Ndidi and the threat of relegation is becoming a reality.
“The most important thing is the World Cup qualifiers. We have to see how we can make it as a team and get our fans back behind us.
“As you can see, there is no smaller country nowadays, so we just have to stick to our own plans, talk to ourselves. The last time we were at the AFCON, we finished second, so it’s going to be tough, but we are going to do our best to win the trophy for Nigeria,” he said.

He added, “Most of our players are doing very well in their various leagues, everybody’s scoring, but at the end of the day, it is going to be a different scenario at the AFCON, because if they cannot replicate their form when we come together, there is nothing we can do about it.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned their attention to a Chelsea defender after missing out on their top target.
