Tia Clayton clocks impressive personal best for 60m win in Kingston

Jamaican sprint sensation Tia Clayton ran her best career 60m race to kick off her 2025 season.

Paris Olympic 100m finalist Tia Clayton opened her 2025 season on a winning note, by taking the women’s 60m event at the Central Hurdles, Relays and Field meet.

The Jamaican rising star clocked an impressive personal best of 7.14s (-1.1) for victory ahead of veteran Natasha Morrison in 7.18s, while Jonielle Smith was third in 7.23s.

Clayton had a breakout 2024 season which saw her get to the Olympic final in Paris and ended the year with a 100m personal best of 10.86s – the sixth fastest time in the world. She also won her first Diamond League in Silesia.

With this brilliant performance to begin the year, the 20-year-old will be gunning to improve on this ahead of the World Indoor Championships in March, as well as the World Championships in August, where she’ll be respectively targeting her first senior global medal.
