In a successful offensive mission, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have rescued seven kidnapped victims in Riyom Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

The operation, part of the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A, was carried out at the Attakar high grounds in the Ganawuri district following credible intelligence reports.

The intelligence indicated that kidnappers had been holding victims abducted along the Jos-Ganawuri road on March 7, 2025. During the mission, troops engaged the kidnappers, forcing them to flee into the high grounds due to superior firepower.

A thorough search of the area led to the rescue of seven victims identified as Sale Umar, Muhammadu Inusa, Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, Abdulsalam Muhammad, Muhammad Hamisu, Ibrahim Maradu, and Saidu Sani—all from Bauchi State.

Troops also recovered a bag containing a blanket and clothing materials abandoned by the fleeing criminals.

After debriefing the rescued victims for valuable intelligence to aid follow-up operations, they were safely reunited with their families. Meanwhile, OPSH troops have intensified efforts to track down and apprehend the kidnappers for prosecution.

Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to flushing out criminal elements within the Joint Operations Area to ensure lasting peace and security.
