The U.S. President, Donald Trump, has announced the nomination of retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
According to a post on his official Truth Social account, Trump said Gen. Caine would replace a top U.S. Army General, CQ Brown, who was earlier fired.
The U.S. President stated that Caine, a retired three-star general, was “instrumental” in defeating the ISIS terrorist group during his first term.
Trump also alleged that the general was passed over for promotion in the immediate past administration led by former President Joe Biden.
“Despite being highly qualified and respected to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the previous administration, General Caine was passed over for promotion by Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump wrote.
DAILY POST reports that the sacked Gen. Brown, the second Black officer to hold the post, made headlines in 2020 when he spoke out about alleged racism following the death of George Floyd.
