Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has rejected Pep Guardiola’s claim that Manchester City have only a “1%” chance of progressing to the Champions League knockout stage.
The LaLiga champions scored two late goals to win the first leg of their play-off 3-2 at the Etihad last week.
Ahead of the second leg in Spain, Guardiola claimed his team barely had a chance of going through.
However, Ancelotti has insisted that Madrid only have a small advantage, even though they will be playing in front of their fans.
“Tomorrow, before the game, I’ll ask him if he really thinks they have a 1% chance!” Ancelotti said.
“We don’t think we have a 99% chance. We believe we have a small advantage that we must make the most of.”
The Real Madrid’s manager added: “I’m happy with the game we played in the first leg.
“I see how the team is playing, how we’ve been training. That makes you feel calm. You know the team will do well. It gives me confidence that we’ll go through.”
