Virgil van Dijk has admitted that his Liverpool future remains uncertain as he approaches the final months of his contract. The Dutch defender, who has been a key figure at Anfield, insists no decision has been made yet despite growing speculation.

Following Liverpool’s Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, Van Dijk was seen in deep conversation with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Luis Campos. This has fueled rumors that the French giants are monitoring his situation for a potential free transfer.

When asked about his future, Van Dijk remained non-committal. “No idea at the moment, still no idea,” he said. “You can keep trying to ask me, but I don’t know. There’s nothing pending, I don’t even know myself.”

The Liverpool captain, Van Dijk acknowledged that discussions are taking place behind the scenes but reiterated that nothing is finalized. “Everyone knows there are conversations, but that’s about it,” he added. “Right now, I don’t know what’s going on next year, so if anyone tells you they know, they’re lying to you.”

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, meanwhile, expressed disappointment over their Champions League elimination. The Reds lost 1-0 at Anfield before being knocked out in a 4-1 penalty shootout defeat, with Gianluigi Donnarumma saving efforts from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones.

The Liverpool boss also highlighted the intensity of the contest. “I hope every fan around the world was hoping this game wouldn’t stop because it was incredible,” he said. “Over 90 minutes, we didn’t deserve to lose, but over 180, PSG may have had the edge.”

Slot admitted the loss was tough to take but praised his team’s performance. “Of course, it is a shock,” he said. “If you have to go out, go out the way we did—fighting against one of the best teams in Europe.”

With 10 games left in the season, Van Dijk remains focused on helping Liverpool finish strong. However, his future beyond this campaign remains one of the biggest talking points as PSG and other top clubs continue to monitor the situation.
