Sad to watch you play for Arsenal — Ian Wright tells struggling star

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent a strong message to Liverpool and the rest of the Premier League after his side’s 2-0 win over Leicester City.

The Gunners’ 2-0 win at Leicester City on Saturday closed the gap on Liverpool to just four points.

Sad to watch you play for Arsenal — Ian Wright tells struggling star

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has singled out one Gunners star for criticism after poor performances in recent weeks.

Mikel Merino’s two goals off the bench secured the victory, and Arteta is confident that his team will give chasing down the league leaders a “real go” with 13 games left.

“We really want it,” Arteta told TNT Sports. “The team wants it, we’ve had seven or eight months working on that. We’re not going to stop, let’s see how far we can go!”

Arsenal striker options: Who can Arteta play at centre-forward after injury to Havertz and Jesus?

The Gunners have no out-and-out striker available for selection right now, no thanks to their injury crisis in attack. However, there are still other ways the North London side could solve this issue.

Arsenal are now unbeaten in their last 15 top-flight games and face a challenging set of fixtures, including matches against West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, and Chelsea over the next month.

Liverpool will have the opportunity to re-establish a seven-point gap when they host Wolves on Sunday.
