‘What happens in the future will happen’ – Boniface opens up on failed Saudi Arabia move

‘I am happy’ - Leverkusen manager welcomes Boniface back to the team following failed Al Nassr move

Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has opened up on his failed January transfer move to Saudi Arabia.

A few days ago, the Saudi delegation were in Germany to finalise the deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Victor Boniface.

However, the projected move to Al Nassr flopped as the club decided to buy Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán instead.

The Saudi outfit signed the Colombian striker in a sensational €77 million deal, including add-ons, essentially ending their pursuit of the Nigerian international.

Boniface speaks on failed Al Nassr move

Victor Boniface stated in an interview with SportsBoom that he is not concerned about the failed move to Al Nassr.

He said, “Transfer rumours are normal in football. It’s always flattering when big clubs show interest, but my focus right now is 100% on Bayer Leverkusen.

“A lot of calculations have also happened here and there, but I love playing here, and I want to give my best to the team. What happens in the future will happen, but for now, my mind is only on helping Leverkusen achieve our goals.”

Now, the Nigerian international needs to return to the team, where he will try to regain his position in Xabi Alonso’s side.
