As a former champion, Nigerian Nightmare Kamaru Usman explains UFC reality Jamahal Hill.

Kamaru Usman is not receptive to 170-pound fighters who say that The Nigerian Nightmare is too afraid to make a comeback and compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight division.

With ambitious competitors like Shakvat Rakhmonov and Jack Della Maddalena, among others, the division is among the finest in the UFC.

Despite being out of action, the former welterweight champion is still ranked third among the 170 pounds class.

Usman gave the warning on his Pound 4 Pound podcast expressing views about a return to the octagon.

He said, “For those of you who keep thinking I’m not fighting because I’m choosing not to fight, like all these stupid fighters running their mouths.

“No one is scared of any of you. I’ve been at the top of the division, pound-for-pound, with an iron fist spanking all of y’all for awhile.”

“When I am healthy, I will get in there. I want to fight. I can’t wait to fight to whoop one of y’all.

“So shut your mouth, all of you stupid welterweights, shut your mouth and wait for when I am healthy again. I’ll fight all of you, I don’t care.

“Just be patient, okay? Thank you. 2025 will be a great year for everybody.”

Nigerian Stylebender Israel Adesanya is set to face Nassourdine Imavov but there is no date set for Usman.

UFC fighters can benefit greatly from media attention, which can increase viewership and boost their careers.

For reasons that reach well beyond the Octagon, Jamahal Hill’s protracted conflict with Alex Pereira has made him a national celebrity.

At the UFC Performance Institute, Hill and Pereira’s tension reached a point where they almost got into a physical altercation.

After Pereira hurled a pair of gloves at Hill, the event swiftly got out of control, attracting the attention of supporters and igniting a surge of online bullying.

Kamaru Usman recently offered his thoughts on the controversy in his YouTube show, Pound 4 Pound.

He said, “You are a former champion. Listen, you’re getting clowned online because of what you chose to do,”

“But what you’re not realizing is, yes, people may be clowning you. But guess what? They’re still talking about you.

“They’re keeping you in the mix. Your name is still connected to Alex Pereira.

“Even though people are saying you looked bad for what you did, they’re still talking about you. Your name is out there.”

This only made his feud with Pereira more well-known and kept both boxers in the public eye.
