The City and County of San Francisco’s Office of the City Administrator, is organizing the City Administrator Office Summer 2025 Internship Program for college students to gain hands-on experience in public service.
This 12-weeks program offers exposure to real-world challenges and the opportunity to work alongside professionals in various departments.

Available Positions
1.) Animal Care & Control Intern
- Assist with the care and wellness of animals in a municipal shelter.
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry, behavioral wellness, and daily care.
- Physical tasks include maintaining enclosures and handling animals.
2.) Committee on Information Technology (COIT) Intern
- Work on the Technology Policy Program.
- Research and analyze data, assist with policy initiatives, and support administrative tasks.
3.) Grants for the Arts (GFTA) Intern
- Support San Francisco’s arts community through grantmaking and data analysis.
- Engage in strategic projects and occasional evening/weekend events.
4.) Human Resources Learning & Development Intern
- Craft learning plans and marketing strategies for growing diverse talent.
- Develop creative content for publications and social media.
5.) County Clerk Intern
- Support initiatives to improve equitable access to public records.
- Experience a dynamic, high-volume public-facing environment at San Francisco City Hall.
6.) Public Affairs and Engagement Intern
- Assist with communications, policy outreach, event planning, and data analysis.
- Learn to execute legislative and promotional strategies for city initiatives.
Eligibility Benchmarks
- Must be 18 years or older by the end of the application period.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university.
